Grant Program:    Hilda and Preston Davis Foundation postdoctoral Fellowship Program in Eating Disorders Research

Proposals must be focused on relevant aspects of the biological causes of anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa as defined by clinical criteria. Examples of areas of interest include but are not limited to neural pathways of feeding behavior in animal models; molecular genetic analysis of relevant neural circuit assembly and function; testing of new chemical compounds that might be used in animal models as experimental treatments; and brain imaging technologies that identify neurochemical pathways in patients with these disorders. Clinical psychotherapeutic studies, medication trials, and obesity research are currently outside the scope of this program.

The awards are designed to support patient-oriented research in diabetes. For the purpose of this award, clinical research is defined as A) research directly involving humans, and includes educational, psychosocial, behavioral, epidemiologic, and health services research as well as studies of normal physiology and mechanisms of disease and B) epidemiological research or other clinically based research that is not directly involving humans. Support will be provided for studies that focus on human subjects in which the effect of a change in the individual's external or internal environment is evaluated. In vitro research on human blood or tissue samples does not qualify under this program unless there has been a major in vivo intervention (e.g. diet, drugs, exercise, etc.) and the study protocol is designed specifically to quantify the effect of this manipulation on the tissue being examined in vitro.

Purpose

The goal of the ASN Career Development Grants Program is to provide funding for young faculty to foster evolution to an independent research career and a successful application a National Institutes of Health (NIH) R01 grant or equivalent.
Preference for the Norman Siegel Research Scholar Grant will be given to a pediatric investigator.
Preference for the John Merrill Grant in Transplantation will be given to an investigator performing biomedical research related to transplantation.
The Halpin Foundation-ASN Research Grant supports research on topics in immunology and genetics directly relevant to human membranous nephropathy. The research proposal must include an explanation of how the proposed research is relevant to human membranous nephropathy.
The NephCure Foundation-ASN Research Grant supports research that is determined to be relevant to the following research areas: understanding the cause, mechanism and treatment of primary forms of idiopathic focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS), as well as investigations of the mechanisms of normal glomerular biology or pathobiology that can be applied commonly to all forms of glomerular disease. These investigations will be applicable to identifying treatments of minimal change disease (MCD) and primary FSGS

Lymphatic Research Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship Awards Program
The LRF Postdoctoral Fellowship Program is designed to support postdoctoral scientists in academic, medical or research institutions throughout the world. The awards will support investigators who have recently received their doctorates, a critical point in career development when young scientists choose their lifelong research focus. The goal of the Fellowship Program is to expand and strengthen the pool of outstanding junior investigators in the field of lymphatic research.

Grant Program:    Lymphatic Research Foundation – Additional Support for NIH F32 Fellows

LRF is pleased to announce that it is offering additional support to outstanding NIH-funded F32 postdoctoral fellows who are currently working in a field relevant to the lymphatic system. The goal of the Additional Support Awards Program is to help foster career interest in the field of lymphatic research by offering additional funds for the F32 postdoctoral research projects. The additional support may be used for research supplies, equipment, health insurance and travel to scientific meetings.
