About Office Hours & Grand Rounds Website

The Office Hours & Grand Rounds website allows Faculty, School of Medicine Students, Medical School Residents, and Physician Assistant Program students to view events happening at the Medical Campus. The events may be faculty office hours, grand rounds, or other special events.

The website has the following pages:

  • Calendar

    The calendar shows events grouped for each day by event type, with a count next to each. For example if you see GR(2) that indicates that there are 2 grand round events that day. OH is the abbreviation for office hours and SE is the abbreviation for a special event. Some roles may not see all event groups. For example, PA students may not see all OH.

    You can hover over an event grouping to see event title(s) or instructor name(s). Clicking on an event grouping will expand event details below the calendar. Within the details you can click the "Follow" button if you would like that event to be listed on your "My Events" page for easy reference. If you follow a recurring event, e.g. a monthly grand round or a weekly faculty member's office hours, all future connected events will appear on your "My Events" page. If you are a faculty member and you have office hours in the system, they will automatically show in your "My Events" page.

    You can filter the list of events by:

    • Search Term - The search results will include events that have the search term in the Title, Description, Organization, Department, or Specialty.
    • Instructor - The name of a faculty member offering office hours.
    • Type of event - One of "Office Hours", "Grand Rounds", or "Special Events".

    You can move to a previous or future month using the buttons on the right above the calendar. You can always return to the current month by clicking the "Today" button.



  • My Events

    The "My Events" page shows events that you are following. To follow an event go to the "Calendar" page, select an event, and click on the "Follow" button in the event details.

    You can click on an event to see event details below the list. From those details you have the option to click the "Unfollow" button if you no longer want the event to appear on your "My Events" page. If you unfollow a recurring event, e.g. a monthly grand round or a weekly faculty member's office hours, then all recurring events will disappear from your "My Events" page.

    The my events on the page show in a list by default, but you can switch to a calendar view if you prefer by clicking the "month" button. You can move to a previous or future month using the arrow buttons in the upper right. You can return to the current month by clicking the "today" button.
