The Commissioners Court of Dallas County, Texas adopted a resolution in September 2003 to encourage the Federal Trade Commission and the U.S. Congress to examine youth exposure to alcohol industry marketing. The board, which is governed by four commissioners and a judge and which operates similarly to a county board, cited statistics on the prevalence of underage drinking and the problems it causes. The Dallas County resolution gave local advocates a tool to use while briefing local officials. See the resolution.
